Step into the Taha de Pitres in the heart of the Alpujarra, a haven of peace and tranquillity. The cultural landscape here, which has barely changed since Moorish times, is criss-crossed by ancient rights of way and irrigation channels.
This route takes us through a remarkable series of picturesque villages and hamlets – Mecina, Mecinilla, Fondales, Ferreirola, Busquistar and Atalbeitar. Sheltered by the high mountains and looking out on the sea, the people here have preserved a centuries-old way of life, including many of its culinary traditions.
