The village of Albuñuelas lies tucked away in the furthest corner of the Lecrín valley, so not many people find their way here. This walk takes in sections of the GR-7 long-distance walking trail to create a loop that starts and ends in the village. As you head up into the hills you soon get great views of the Lecrín valley and the Sierra Nevada, which you continue to enjoy for much of the walk.
Level A long walk, but not particularly challenging. The going is generally very easy, as the walk mainly follows dirt roads, and navigation is also fairly straightforward although you should take care to follow the directions at a few key junctions.
When to go All year round, but probably best avoided in the heat of the summer.
Water There is water available on the return leg of the walk. You can also stock up at drinking fountains in the village before you start.
Location: Lecrín Valley The walk starts from Albuñuelas at the far end of the Lecrín Valley.
