Audio Tours
- - - Ever since we moved to Granada in 2006, we’ve enjoyed exploring Andalucía. The TrekSierraNevada website was born out of our love of hiking in the mountains, but recently we’ve also created audio tours of some of the region’s fascinating villages, towns and cities. Our audio tours use VoiceMap, an innovative app that uses your phone’s GPS to automatically play you audio based on your location.
Guided hikes
- - - On a guided hike you can learn about the local geology, fauna and flora and architecture, as well as the people who live here. And if you want to climb the highest peaks like Mulhacén or Veleta in winter, the only safe way to do it is with a guide.
Activities
- - - As well as hiking, Granada and the Sierra Nevada region offer a wide range of activities, including cultural heritage, gastronomy and high-adrenaline options like canyoning and climbing.

North of Granada

In the area north and north-west of Granada there is excellent walking in the Sierra Mágina and Sierras Subbéticas natural parks, as well as in the Sierra de Elvira closer to Granada. The Gollizno Route is an excellent short hike starting from the pretty village of Moclín.

Overlooked by the ruins of a medieval castle perched on the top of a hill, Moclin is a very picturesque village. This popular circuit takes you down into the gorge below the village. In the narrowest part, there are wooden walkways attached the cliff face and a hanging bridge across the fast-flowing river. There is some steep climbing and descending, but you’re rewarded with fabulous views in all directions, including across to the Sierra Nevada mountain range.
