Great family walk with a lovely meadow where you can stop for a picnic half way round. Stone benches with fantastic views mean that there are plenty of places where you can stop for breather. Refill your water bottles at the source of the River Darro, one of the two rivers that run through Granada.

When to go All year round, but bear in mind that this area could occasionally be above the snow line in winter.

Location: Sierra de Huétor
The Sierra de Huétor is a Natural Park to the north-east of Granada, which can be accessed directly from the A-92 motorway.

Transport
By Car: From Granada, take the A-92 towards Almeria and Guadix. Take exit 259 signposted Parque Natural de la Sierra de Huétor, and turn left to cross the motorway. Turn right onto a dirt road where you see a signpost saying Cañada del Sereno, 80m. You will see the information board for the start of the walk on your right. Park by the side of the dirt road.
By Bus: This walk is not easily accessible by bus.
